The utopian idea of a black hole, that can be reversed and not only absorb but also create things, is the center of the concept for Kuro Artspace. Kuro stands for the color of the night that absorbs all light and does not reflect anything in the Japanese language. The opposite of darkness is of course light and so a bright yellow complements the black in the Brand Design. Kuro Artspace is not only a gallery but an art piece itself. That is reflected in the Brand Design, that conveys the “black hole” idea in the logo and the logo mark. The mark is also flexible and can recreate and multiply itself as a pattern. The simplistic logotype is complemented by more extravagant typefaces to emphasize its avant-garde statement. Kuro Artspace wants to be the center of creation, a place of origin, where everything begins and bring innovative new concepts to the world.
